For both Brittany Morse and Courtney Wiegand, a deeply moving evening at Cay Galgon Life House’s Annual Gala became a call to action. They have co-chaired the Gala for five years, transforming it into one of the most influential events in the Lehigh Valley. As they prepare to pass the torch, we honor their profound generosity, exceptional leadership, and enduring impact on our organization and the women we serve.

Courtney’s connection to CGLH began in March 2019, just months after she and her husband Eric welcomed their fourth son. Founding member Laura Michaelis invited them to the Gala, where a mother’s story deeply moved Courtney. “I could not imagine doing it without a support system,” she reflects. “The fact that Cay Galgon Life House serves as that support system during one of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life is what inspires me to continue to contribute my time and efforts.”

Brittany’s introduction came through Courtney’s invitation several years later. She was immediately inspired by the community’s sincere support and the mother’s remarkable courage. “I remember feeling deeply emotional and profoundly moved by the hope and dignity the Life House provides,” Brittany shares. That evening sparked five extraordinary years of dedication to raising support and spreading awareness of CGLH’s mission.

“I couldn’t and wouldn’t do it with anyone else,” Courtney says of their partnership. Brittany echoes the sentiment: “With my ride or die sister!”

What keeps both women invested? The mothers’ stories. “Their stories are honest and raw,” Courtney explains. “When they commit to the program, there is hope. Their paths become brighter and success feels attainable.” Brittany agrees, “Their honesty, courage, and strength, paired with the tangible support they received through the Life House, made it clear that this work changes lives in very real ways.”

With the help of a passionate team, Brittany and Courtney have developed and executed fundraising events that provide critical support to mothers and babies. Both women emphasize the profound impact of community giving. “This is not a large organization. Every single dollar, donation, and hour of time matters tremendously,” Courtney notes. “All efforts stay local and directly help families in our community.” Brittany adds, “These contributions don’t just fund programs; they help change the trajectory of families’ lives.”

Courtney, a mother of four boys ranging in age from 13 to 7 and now in her third year teaching Forensic Science at Allentown Central Catholic High School, explains that her involvement at CGLH is a chance to invest in her community and model service for her children. “I will always make time for the Life House so they can continue to support these moms and babies,” she affirms. “I am proud to be part of an organization that not only provides shelter and basic necessities but also empowers women to succeed.”

Brittany, owner of barre3 Lehigh Valley and mother to Vivian (13) and Guy (9) with her husband Adam, is grateful to give her time, energy, resources, and financial support. “Being able to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Life House feels both meaningful and deeply fulfilling.”

Paula Albanese, Executive Director, shares, “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Courtney and Brittany for their years of dedication to our annual Gala. Their leadership, creativity, and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in its growth and in expanding awareness of our mission. They have been an integral part of elevating this event into what it is today, and we are truly grateful for the passion they continue to bring to Cay Galgon Life House.”

Both women regard CGLH’s future with hope. Courtney is encouraged by the organization’s growth and visibility. “More people recognize the name and understand the mission, and they are inspired to get involved.” Brittany finds hope in the community’s steadfast commitment. “The passion of the staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters, combined with the strength and resilience of the mothers themselves, assures me that the Life House will continue to grow, evolve, and reach even more families in need.”

“At the end of the day,” Courtney reflects, “Cay Galgon Life House reminds me that when a community shows up with compassion and purpose, lives truly change.”

We are grateful to Brittany and Courtney for five years of exemplary leadership, countless hours of service, and hearts full of compassion and devotion to the health and success of mothers and their babies. Their legacy will continue to inspire us all.
