Wendy Wright didn\u2019t set out to work with vulnerable mothers and babies, but when the opportunity arose, it felt like coming home. With a personal story shaped by resilience, a career grounded in service, and a heart for women who often feel invisible, Wendy brings both passion and experience to her role as the new Development Officer at Cay Galgon Life House. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wendy is primed and ready to make an impact! After years working in community outreach, case management, fundraising, and development roles, including the 6th Street Shelter, Wendy brings a layered perspective to the Life House team. She thrives on building relationships and isn\u2019t afraid of bold ideas. \u201cThe sky\u2019s the limit,\u201d she says with a smile. \u201cI\u2019ve already started brainstorming fundraising projects and community strategies that feel joyful and inclusive, like block parties, family events, and ways to really connect with people.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A single parent who has navigated the stress and uncertainty of limited resources, Wendy understands the emotional weight that many of the women served by the Life House carry. \u201cI had to do a lot on my own,\u201d she says. \u201cI didn\u2019t have much money, but I had many people around me who believed in me, and that made all the difference. Cay Galgon Life House gives me the opportunity to give back in a way that feels very personal.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked what fuels her commitment, Wendy lights up. \u201cThere\u2019s real purpose in contributing to the lives of others, because that\u2019s what we\u2019re meant to do. Living a meaningful life isn\u2019t about money or status. True happiness comes from connections in the community. We\u2019re wired to care for one another, and I\u2019m here to help create more ways for people in this community to do just that.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now pursuing a dual master\u2019s degree in social work and nonprofit leadership, Wendy\u2019s drive goes beyond personal experience.
