Cay Galgon Life House is growing, and so is the circle of dedicated professionals committed to our work. This summer, the Life House is honored to welcome four new members to its Board of Directors: Dr. Maia Green, Dr. Jay Lieberman, Bob Marks, and Margie Skibinski, RN, BSN. All four are committed to the deep belief that every mother and baby has the right to be seen, known, and loved.
Dr. Maia Green
For Dr. Maia Green, joining the Cay Galgon Life House Board of Directors unites two passions that have shaped much of her life: supporting women during pregnancy and serving her community. Her connection to Life House began years ago when it was Mary’s Shelter. After learning about the Baby Bottle Campaign through her parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bethlehem, she became involved as a supporter and fundraiser while working for Merck & Co. where she also served as a Merck for Mothers Ambassador. What began as a single campaign grew into a lasting appreciation for the Life House mission.
As a single mother raising two children, Dr. Green understands the challenges of balancing parenthood, work, and the uncertainties that accompany pregnancy. She believes pregnancy can be vulnerable and isolating, and that the support offered by Cay Galgon Life House empowers women, strengthens families, and transforms lives. Her commitment to service is grounded in a desire to live intentionally and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, whether through her professional work or through organizations like Cay Galgon Life House.
A Bethlehem native, Dr. Green serves as Vice President of Toxicology at Certara Inc. Throughout her career as a developmental and reproductive toxicologist, she has dedicated herself to advancing research on birth defects, improving medication safety during pregnancy, mentoring future professionals, and empowering women to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. Her expertise and passion for maternal and reproductive wellness make her a tremendous asset to the Cay Galgon Life House Board of Directors.
Outside of work, Dr. Green enjoys dancing and spending time with her two children, whom she describes as “the most beautifully awesome people.” She looks forward to helping Cay Galgon Life House continue its mission of ensuring that every mother and baby is seen, known, and loved.
Jay Lieberman, MD
Dr. Jay Lieberman’s path to Cay Galgon Life House is deeply personal and inspired by his own family. The proud father of four daughters and husband to an “extraordinary” woman, he realized that if his family was going to invest their time and energy in serving the community, it would be with an organization led by women and dedicated to supporting women. Life House was the perfect fit.
His involvement began with a neighborhood baby wash drive that collected more than 500 bottles. The response from family, friends, neighbors, and his community was overwhelming, and from that first project, the Lieberman family was all in. Over the years, they have continued to support Life House through donation drives, personal care item collections, financial gifts, and volunteer efforts organized through their community, school, family, and church.
As a trauma surgeon at Lehigh Valley Health Network for more than 15 years, Dr. Lieberman cares for some of the community’s most vulnerable patients, including pregnant women, infants, and young children who have experienced traumatic injuries. He earned both his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees, with a focus on multisector health management, bringing valuable clinical insight and organizational leadership to the Board of Directors.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Lieberman enjoys reading, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family. He considers it a privilege to help strengthen Cay Galgon Life House so it can continue serving mothers and children for generations to come.
Bob Marks
Bob Marks has seen firsthand the life-changing support Cay Galgon Life House provides to families throughout the community. A gala attendee for more than seven years, a table sponsor, and a longtime donor of his company’s landscaping services to maintain the Life House grounds, Bob’s commitment earned him the William & Patricia Straccia Guardian Angel Award Recipient in 2024. For Bob, that recognition was meaningful not just as an honor, but as a reflection of how much the work being done at the Life House matters to him.
Growing up in a household where his mother carried much of the responsibility, Bob gained an early understanding of the challenges moms and families face, as well as an appreciation for the importance of support systems and giving back to the community. He is now in a position to offer that support to Life House in a more meaningful way. As President and owner of emi landscape, a commercial landscape and snow removal company, Bob brings to the board the same principles that have guided his business: clarity, accountability, and strong leadership. He has spent his career building teams, creating alignment around a shared purpose, and growing an organization from the ground up.
What draws Bob most to CGLH is the life-changing support provided within the Life House itself and to more than 500 families served annually through the Residential and Community Programs. He admires an organization whose impact runs deep into the community, and he is committed to helping Life House grow. Outside of work, Bob is a husband and father of two young daughters who share their home with a mini goldendoodle, and this summer Bob is competing in his first bodybuilding competition.
Margie Skibinski, RN, BSN
For Margie Skibinski, RN, BSN, joining the board is a natural extension of her lifelong commitment to caring for mothers and families. As a Mobile Maternity Nurse Case Manager with University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), when she coordinated care for vulnerable mothers across the Lehigh Valley, Cay Galgon Life House was a resource she trusted and relied on regularly. That connection led her to volunteer as a Parent Educator in the Residential Program in 2025. When Paula invited her to consider board service, it felt like the next step in deepening her commitment.
With more than 30 years of nursing experience spanning the NICU at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, maternity and postpartum care, community home care, and case management, Margie brings clinical expertise and compassionate insight to all she does. Her experience also extends beyond direct patient care. In 2016, she partnered with Phoebe Ministries to found Comforting Home Care by Phoebe, a senior home care organization, giving her firsthand experience in building and sustaining a purpose-driven organization. Having raised six children with her husband Greg, including two adopted children, Margie understands what it means to show up for a mother in need. She believes that a mother’s outcome often depends on whether someone shows up for her, and the Life House, she says, does exactly that. Outside of the Life House, Margie can be found gardening, baking, or traveling with her family, which includes two Great Danes named Louie and Ralphie.
Life House is grateful to welcome Maia, Jay, Bob, and Margie to the board. Their exceptional professional expertise, personal histories, and genuine care for the families served by this organization make them meaningful additions to the Life House community. We look forward to all we will accomplish together.
