CGLH is Where Compassion Meets Action!

Cay Galgon Life House

julio 22, 2025

At Cay Galgon Life House, vulnerable mothers’ lives are transformed daily by empathy, strengthened by integrity, and lifted up by love, thanks to our generous donors and volunteers. We are so grateful to you, our family of supporters. Together, with our compassionate community, we are building stronger families through our compassionate community.

As we reach the halfway point of the year, there’s much to celebrate about the life-changing power of this work. Most notably, we’ve launched our newest endeavor, the Community Engagement Initiative. This multifaceted approach deepens our connections with the community by sharing educational content, expanding awareness of our services, and making it easier for women to access support when they need it. Through increased participation in community events and our growing #LifeHouseDaily online presence, we’re building bridges to reach more mothers in need. With eviction rates and economic challenges rising, especially among low-income households, this initiative helps us reach more mothers in need and invites others to join us in walking alongside pregnant women and new moms with compassion, consistency, and hope.

Our Programa Residencial continues to support ambitious, hard-working moms as they work toward long-term stability and self-reliance. So far this year, residents have celebrated major milestones, including starting healthcare and nursing classes, earning GED diplomas, and pursuing career certifications. Our internal Doula Network is now coordinating care with five local doulas to enhance maternal support for our residents. We’re also excited to share that CGLH is beta-testing a post-exit support initiative, offering continued case management and assistance to former residents as they navigate housing, employment, parenting, and more.

Our Programa de extensión comunitaria continues to grow steadily, reaching families across more than 25 ZIP codes in the Lehigh Valley. Already this year, we have celebrated incredible moments of joy, with 55 babies born to outreach clients, over 1,200 appointments, and 560 service hours connecting mothers with essential support. Basic needs remain the foundation of our work, with pantry visits accounting for nearly 60 percent of all activity. At the same time, a steady flow of new client intakes and responsive support ensures that women facing housing instability, domestic violence, or other urgent challenges receive care and resources that make all the difference.

Whether you’re a donor, volunteer, or advocate, you’re part of every success story. Please consider following us on social media, sharing our mission with your networks, or contributing in ways that feel meaningful to you.
