One of the most powerful moments of the 2025 Cay Galgon Life House Gala came when a former Life House resident took the stage. With grace and dignity, speaking candidly about her journey and the challenges she faced, she talked about the hope and support she found at the Life House. Her story of resilience moved the room deeply and ended in a thunderous standing ovation.

“I have experienced homelessness twice and know the pain of feeling trapped, powerless, and ashamed,” she said. “During one of the hardest times of my life, I found myself at Cay Galgon Life House for the second time. I was pregnant, scared, and desperate for a fresh start. This home, this safe space, gave us all more than just shelter. It gave us hope, and it gave us the support we needed to heal.”
Moved by her strength and inspired by her journey, everyone understood the mission of Cay Galgon Life House in a new, more personal way, through the eyes of Grace, as something truly impactful and life changing.
She wants to pass on what she learned at Cay Galgon Life House: Every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for with dignity. She plans to become a nurse practitioner and “open a practice where women and babies can receive high-quality, compassionate, and nonjudgmental healthcare, regardless of their financial situation.”
